“The important role of physiotherapy is not limited to health benefits, but also contributes significantly to prevention, maintaining mobility and leading an active and independent life.” These words of actor and theatre personality Padmashree Paresh Rawal very succinctly capture the changing health needs of today.
Speaking at the inauguration of the dedicated SVKM Physiotherapy Clinic, established by SVKM in collaboration with the NMIMS School of Physiotherapy, Paresh Rawal emphasized the need to not limit physiotherapy to treatment only after illness or injury. He said, “This initiative brings professional care and expertise closer to the community.” According to him, such initiatives can increase awareness of preventive healthcare and motivate people to prioritize their long-term health and well-being.
This new clinic will offer services such as musculoskeletal, sports, neurological, cancer, cardiac and respiratory, women’s health, and geriatric physiotherapy. With state-of-the-art equipment and expert faculty, this facility is a significant step towards providing accessible and professional rehabilitation services to the SVKM community.
Paresh Rawal’s message is clear—good health doesn’t just mean recovering from illness, but also staying active, capable, and independent for longer.
