Piyush Goyal launches ‘Hunger Free World’ plan

Proper nutrition is as essential as education and skills to fulfill any youth’s dreams. Bringing this vision to life, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal launched the Malabar Group’s “Hunger Free World” initiative at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Skill Development Center in Kandivali, Mumbai. Under this initiative, 100 students studying at the center will be provided free nutritious meals daily, allowing them to focus on their training and career development while remaining in good health.

Speaking on the occasion, Piyush Goyal said, “Skill development plays a vital role in empowering youth and preparing them for meaningful employment. Supporting students through essential services like nutrition helps them focus on learning and personal growth.”

This initiative is not just about providing food, but also about laying a strong foundation for a bright future for the youth. Malabar Group has announced a CSR expenditure of ₹200 crore for the financial year 2026-27, which will accelerate social change in areas such as education, hunger eradication, health, women’s empowerment, and environmental protection.

Malabar Group Chairman M.P. Ahmed said, “Nutrition and education are deeply intertwined. Through ‘Hunger Free World,’ we strive to advance youth toward self-reliance and economic empowerment. This initiative exemplifies that when the government and the corporate world come together to address social concerns, it opens new doors of opportunity for youth and provides a new direction to the overall development of society.”
