The biggest challenge facing higher education institutions is not just preparing students for jobs, but also equipping them with skills that will enable them to succeed in changing circumstances throughout their lives. With this vision in mind, WPU Goa has presented a new vision for future education through its “transdisciplinary” education model.
At the ‘Open House’ programme held in Mumbai, the university’s academics stressed that the future will not belong only to subject experts but also to those who can solve new challenges by combining the understanding of different fields.
Professor Walter Leal, Vice Chancellor, WPU Goa, said, “We want to give students not just degrees, but the ability to learn, lead, and adapt to every situation throughout their lives.” Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Ashish Bhardwaj believes, “The future belongs to those who can continuously learn, integrate new ideas, and think outside traditional boundaries.”
The discussions revealed that curiosity, adaptability, and a lifelong learning attitude are now as important as technical knowledge. WPU Goa believes that the true purpose of higher education is to prepare students not only for today, but also for opportunities that are unimaginable today.
