APNIC 62, the premier conference for the Asia-Pacific Internet community, has returned to India after nearly 14 years. Held in Mumbai from September 8-10, the conference is hosted by NIXI and co-hosted by ISPAI. During the conference, NIXI and APNIC also signed a significant agreement aimed at strengthening cooperation in the areas of Internet development, technical training, and routing security.
The partnership will focus on promoting IPv6 and RPKI, developing Train-the-Trainer programs, technical training, and lab infrastructure. The deployment of an RPKI Repository Mirror will provide improved access to routing security information.
Dr. Devesh Tyagi, CEO of NIXI, said, “The MoU will enhance cooperation in practical areas such as IPv6, RPKI, and technical training. Our goal is to strengthen local expertise.” Jia Rong Lou, Director General of APNIC, said, “India has demonstrated global leadership in IPv6 adoption. This partnership is an important step towards further strengthening routing security and technical capabilities.”
APNIC 62 will feature expert discussions on internet infrastructure, AI, cybersecurity, IPv6, internet governance, and emerging technologies. The conference also highlights India’s growing digital role and commitment to a secure, stable, and robust internet.
