Her directorial debut, the Hindi thriller “Bandra Boy,” has earned recognition at two prestigious international film festivals in New York, proving that a strong story and a clear vision are beyond boundaries.
This 21-minute film was selected as a semifinalist at the Frames of New York Film Festival and was honored as an award winner at the New York International Women’s Festival. This achievement is considered a significant achievement for any new director, but for Neeru Sharma, it’s even more significant because it marks her directorial debut.

Having been a part of Bollywood and entertainment journalism for over two decades, Neeru Sharma witnessed countless events, controversies, and human stories up close in her professional life. Before venturing into filmmaking, Neeru Sharma trained in directing at Whistling Woods International, founded by filmmaker Subhash Ghai. Her transition from journalism to directing is seen as an inspiring example in the industry today.
The film stars Ahwaan Kumar in the lead role, while acclaimed Gujarati and Marathi cinema actor Dharmendra Gohil plays a pivotal role. The cast also includes Lochan Barasgade, Yash Pednekar, Sham Thombare, Pawan Tiwari, Aishwarya Manohar, Himanshi Mandalia, and Nandini Sharma.
